  • Adalberto Ramon Vieyra
    Graduated in Medicine from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (1970), master's degree in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ - 1979) and doctorate in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1982). Adjunct Professor of Biochemistry at UFRJ (1982-1994). Full professor of Medical Biochemistry (1994-1999). Full professor of Biophysics and Physiology (1999-2014) and professor emeritus since June 2015. He was coordinator of the Biological Sciences II area at CAPES (2005-2011) and again performed this function from September 2014 to February 2018. He was director scientific research of the UFRJ Oncobiology Program (between 2003 and 2016). Since 2013, he is director of the National Center for Structural Biology and Bioimaging and Nucleus for Structural Biology and Bioimaging at UFRJ (CENABIO / UFRJ). His field of scientific interest is in the areas of Biophysics and Physiology, with an emphasis on Process and Systems Biophysics, focused on the study of ionic transport phenomena through biological membranes and their regulation under physiological and pathological conditions. His laboratory investigates the potential of cell therapies in experimental models of acute and chronic nephropathies. He is a Scientist of Our State (Rio de Janeiro), member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (since 2000) and commander of the National Order of Scientific Merit (since 2009).

  • Alexander Machado Cardoso
    He is currently dean of research and graduate studies and an adjunct professor at the State University of the West Zone (UEZO) in Rio de Janeiro. Graduated in Biomedicine (2002), Master's (2003) and PhD (2007) in Biochemistry (Biological Chemistry) from the Institute of Medical Biochemistry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and swe doctorate (2006) in Molecular Biology from the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University in the United States and postdoc in the environmental field. He was a fellow at the Department of Energy and a scientific consultant, a research productivity fellow at CNPq, a Young Scientist at FAPERJ and coordinator of the graduate program. He also participates as professor of the post-graduation in Environmental Science and Technology at UEZO, in the Biotechnology Program of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO), in the Program in Translational Biomedicine and coordinator of international relations. Collaborates in research groups in Italy, Germany, Nigeria and the United States. He works mainly on the following themes: Environmental Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Microbial Diversity and Metagenome, focusing on microbiota analysis.

  • Ana Paula Rocha Gadelha
    Graduated in Biological Sciences at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2001), Master's (2003) and PhD (2007) in Morphology at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. She is currently a researcher in the field of Structural Biology at the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO), where she coordinates the Multiparametric Cell Screening platform. He has experience in Parasitology, with an emphasis on Cell Biology of pathogenic protozoa, antiparasitic chemotherapy for the development of new drugs and morphological evaluation using optical and electronic microscopy tools. He is a professor at the Postgraduate Program in Translational Biomedicine at INMETRO, UEZO and Unigranrio, as well as the Professional Master's Program in Scientific Training for Biology Teachers at UFRJ. Currently, he is a fellow of the Young Scientist of Our State Program (JCNE - Faperj).

  • Celso Barbosa de Sant'Anna Filho
    Graduated in Microbiology and Immunology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ - 2000), master's degree in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ - 2003), doctorate in Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro ( UFRJ - 2007), with sandwich period at the University of Texas at El Paso, USA (2006), postdoctoral fellow at the University of Georgia, USA (2007) and postdoctoral fellow at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ - 2008) . He is currently a researcher-technologist at the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO), where he coordinates the Microscopy Laboratory of the Directorate of Metrology Applied to Life Sciences, working in research, development and technology in the area of ​​Bionanotechnology, focusing on biological production, characterization and evaluation of the biomedical potential of metallic nanoparticles. He is part of the editorial board of the journals Journal of Scientific and Industrial Metrology and Recent Patents on Nanotechnology. He is a collaborating professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), discipline coordinator and professor of the Technical Course in Biotechnology (coordinated by INMETRO). He is currently assistant coordinator, professor and advisor of the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology at INMETRO, the Postgraduate Program in Translational Biomedicine at Unigranrio, INMETRO and UEZO, and the Professional Master's Program in Scientific Training for Teachers of Biology at UFRJ.   • Cláudia Maria Pereira
    Graduated in Dentistry from Universidade Federal Fluminense (RJ). She is a dentist with a specialization in Stomatology (ABO-MG). Master of Science (Oncology area) from Fundação Antônio Prudente São Paulo (SP) and PhD in Science from Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) with a research line focused on the Molecular Bases of Oral Diseases. He completed his post-doctorate at the Laboratory of Cell Morphogenesis (ICB-UFRJ) under the guidance of prof. Vivaldo Moura Neto, where he developed research in the field of Epigenetics, with analyzes of the DNA methylation profile and the expression of microRNAs in oral cancer and glioblastoma. Has experience in Dentistry (with an emphasis on Stomatology) and in Molecular Biology (with an emphasis on Cancer Genetics). Currently, she holds the position of assistant professor with a PhD at the University of Grande Rio (Unigranrio), is part of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Programs in Translational Biomedicine (Biotrans) and Unigranrio Clinical and Experimental Dentistry (Odontoclinex). His line of research is the studies of gene expression in Translational Biomedicine, with an emphasis on Epigenetics (DNA methylation and tissue and circulating microRNAs) in diseases such as oral cancer, periodontal and peri-implant disease, glioblastomas and obesity.

  • Daniel Escorsim Machado
    Adjunct professor at the State University Center of the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro (UEZO). Master (2005) and doctor (2009) in Morphological Sciences by the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at UFRJ, graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry. Since 2011, he is a researcher at the UEZO Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Laboratory and also works as a collaborative researcher at the UFRJ Cellular Interactions Laboratory. Counselor of the Collegiate of the Pharmacy Unit and of the Structuring Teaching Nucleus (NDE) of the Pharmacy course at UEZO. Deputy coordinator and full member of the Ethics Committee on the Use of Animals (CEUA) of UEZO.   • Eidy de Oliveira Santos
    He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She worked as a substitute professor at the Institute of Biology at UFRJ (2006 and 2007). PhD in Biological Sciences (Genetics) at UFRJ (2009). Visiting Professor at the Institute of Biology at UFRJ (2011-2013). Post-doctorate in Genetics and Proteomics of Marine Bacteria and Corals (2009-2010). She is currently an adjunct professor at the Centro Universitário da Zona Oeste RJ (UEZO) and deputy director of the Biology Unit, also acting as an alternate advisor to the Higher University Council (CONSU) and president of the Internal Biosafety Commission at the same institution (UEZO).     Senior researcher 1 A by CNPq, full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and Scientist of Nosso Estado. Graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1970), master's degree in Morphological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1977) and doctorate in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1984). Postdoctoral abroad at the University of Illinois and several internships at international research centers in France, Switzerland, the United States, Scotland, Mexico etc. He received several awards for his research and teaching activities. He was on the cover of several scientific journals, including the prestigious Science magazine. Professor honored several times by graduates at the universities where she worked. She is currently a retired professor at UFRJ and a former professor at Santa Úrsula University, where she headed the Cellular Ultrastructure Laboratory. She is currently a visiting professor at the University of Grande Rio (Unigranrio).   • Jose Mauro Granjeiro
    Graduated in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo (1989), Master in Science / Biochemistry from the State University of Campinas (1994) and PhD in Science / Chemistry from the State University of Campinas (1998). He did a postdoctoral internship in Cellular and Molecular Biology at USP's Chemistry Institute (1999-2000). He obtained the title of professor at the University of São Paulo in 2001. He is currently a senior specialist in Metrology and Quality at the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO). He is an associate professor at the Faculty of Dentistry of Universidade Federal Fluminense. He works in the area of ​​Tissue Bioengineering, with an emphasis on Biomaterials and Bone Biology, in vitro toxicology, cell therapy, development of equivalent tissues, alternative methods to the use of animals and the safety of nanomaterials. He coordinated the Nanotox Network and the project for the implementation of the National Alternative Methods Network (RENAMA). He worked in the Nanovalid and NanoReg consortia (CE / FP7).
